Synergy is spotlighting our Synergy Partners to help you get to know them a little bit better. We asked each partner some questions so we could learn more about them and their business. Check out below to read all about Joel Petersheim with Milwaukee Tool.

  1. What originally got you interested in your current field of work?
    • I have always been intrigued by construction and putting things together, as my father owned a small construction business. When I was in college, I had the opportunity to sit in on a marketing presentation from Milwaukee’s parent company, and became extremely in the opportunities. The organization at that time was much smaller, and was undergoing explosive growth which as a college student really intrigued me.
  2. When someone finds out what you do, what question do they always ask you?
    • I typically get the …… Can you hook me up with free tools?!
  3. What is the career highlight you’re most proud of?
    • There isn’t one specific moment I am most proud of. What I am most proud of within my career is the ability I have had to lead and manage the future leaders at Milwaukee Tool. It is extremely gratifying watching someone grow and develop within the organization. That is what makes me proud.
  4. What do you love most about what you do?
    • I crave the customer interaction, whether at shows or in meetings. It is awesome getting the opportunity to meet and build relationships with so many great people within the industry. I have been fortunate enough to cross paths with so many people along the way who have given me even more appreciation of the industry.
  5. Who inspires you?
    • My wife, Jenna. She is a completely selfless person, who always puts others first. She somehow manages to find the time to take care of our two dogs (and me), keep our house in order, all while being a college professor, and consultant for a local advertising agency. Her drive and passion to be better at everything she does is contagious.
  6. What is your favorite thing about the area you live in?
    • Pittsburgh has been home for the last 8 years, and continues to get better. There are so many great restaurants, breweries, and great areas that continue to pop up throughout the city. I can’t fail to mention, it’s a pretty awesome sports town as well.
  7. What is your most prized possession and why?
    • I am not sure if this counts, but my two dogs get a lot of attention. Caicos (5) and Rinc (2) are both rescues; Caicos from the island of Granada, and Rinc from Rincon, Puerto Rico. They both have very unique personalities and bring my wife and me a lot of smiles.
  8. What is your favorite place of all the places you’ve travelled?
    • Traveling is something my wife and I love to do. My favorite place to travel right now would have to be Italy. We just came back from what we thought was a post pandemic trip, to Lake Como. The culture, architecture, and way of life make this one of our favorite destinations. Not to mention the food is pretty good too!
