One of the themes that came up repeatedly during the 2026 Field Supervisors Forum in Philadelphia was the value of hearing from others in similar roles.
Joe Haywood from LMS shared that one of the biggest takeaways for him was realizing that many field supervisors are dealing with the same types of challenges, regardless of whether they work in service or construction.
“I think being able to talk with other field supervisors, similar role, and realized that we all face some of the same challenges,” Joe shared. “So I didn’t feel like my experience was unique to me.”
Throughout the session, members spent time discussing leadership, delegation, communication, training apprentices, accountability, and balancing billable work with leadership responsibilities. The conversations reinforced that while companies and roles may look different on paper, many field leaders are navigating similar situations every day.
Joe also shared that the opportunity to talk through challenges and hear practical solutions from others in the room was one of the most valuable parts of the experience.
The 2026 Field Supervisors Forum brought together 58 field leaders in Philadelphia for peer discussions, leadership development, and hands-on conversations focused on the realities of leading teams in the field.
