Synergy team and Lane Associates stand together outside Jordan Lobster Farms during a visit to Long Island, NY.
We’re excited to officially welcome Lane Associates to the Synergy network.

Based in Island Park, NY and serving the New York metro area, Lane brings over 80 years of history, a tight-knit team, and a service-first mindset to Synergy. Founded in 1944, the company began as a refrigeration contractor and has grown into a well-respected HVAC service provider under the leadership of Mike Star.

What stood out during our visit wasn’t just their longevity, it was their culture. From a wall proudly displaying long-tenured employees to decades-old photos lining the hallways, Lane blends family values with structure and intentional planning.

Mike now leads the company alongside his mother, Diane Star, and longtime service manager Steve Liuzzo. Together, they’ve created an environment that values transparency, teamwork, and growth. Lane’s commitment to the industry runs deep, with active involvement in MSCA, MCAA, ASHRAE, and ACCA. And while their past includes participation in other peer groups, Mike shared that what drew him to Synergy was the opportunity to go deeper, with non-competing peers and more engagement across all levels of the team. Synergy members will benefit from Lane’s structure, service focus, and innovative mindset.

A special thank you to Synergy members Ryan Houghton (Dowling Corporation) and Peter McLean (Cox Engineering) for joining us on the visit and helping us get to know the Lane team.

Please join us in welcoming Mike, Diane, Steve, and the rest of the Lane Associates team to Synergy!
