Sometimes the most valuable takeaway from a Synergy Forum isn’t a slide deck or a worksheet, it’s a relationship.
At Synergy’s 2023 Special Projects Forum, Tyler from HMC remembered hearing a great idea – a form that one of his peers was using to help customers visualize long-term RTU replacement costs. But when a few of his own customers recently asked for similar budgeting help, he couldn’t quite place who had shared the concept.
So he reached out to Julie on the Synergy team and she was able to connect him with Bill Van Winkle from CSE, the original member who’d walked through the capital planning tool during the 2023 meeting.
Bill didn’t just send a link, though, he jumped on a call.
“Bill shared the ways they have used this for certain customers in order to help them budget for larger replacement jobs (multiple RTU’s),” said Tyler. “He was very willing to help out and answer any questions we had.”
That one conversation gave Tyler and his team the tools to start introducing long-term budgeting options into customer conversations.
“I have used it a few times and customers enjoy seeing this, due to being able to take it higher up and show any type of cost savings. This in turn makes the process speed up on budgeting and planning.” said Tyler.
The tool has parallels with what HMC already does to show payback for Lochinvar boilers, but expanding their approach to RTUs is already proving to be a valuable addition to their customer conversations, especially in areas like Louisville where multi-unit replacement planning is more common.
This is the power of Synergy in action: the conversations that start in a meeting room often lead to support that shows up exactly when you need it – months or even years later.
