At Synergy, we pride ourselves on cultivating a community of forward-thinking professionals who constantly push the boundaries of innovation and growth. The 2024 People Forum was a perfect example of this spirit, with members sharing their incredible successes and progress. Here are a few highlights from our members’ journeys this year:

Angela from Interstate:

Angela set out with two major goals: complete her continuing education credits for SPHR and SHRM-SCP recertification and migrate their HRIS system. While her journey had its challenges, Angela exceeded expectations. She not only finished all but one unit of her recertification training but also discovered through thorough research that the initial HRIS choice wasn’t a perfect fit for their needs. With decisive action, she introduced a new system instead, which has digitized all employee records and improved overall efficiency. The successful rollout resulted in 98% of employees logging into the new portal, demonstrating a huge leap forward for the team’s operational workflow.

Leta from CCAC:

Leta has made significant strides in her 2025 strategic recruiting plan. By collaborating with her team, she developed a comprehensive interview evaluation sheet that standardizes candidate assessments across their business. In addition, CCAC has implemented a “First Five” onboarding program, which mandates all new hires to complete five days of training, ensuring that they are well-versed in company practices. Utilizing Interplay as an LMS, CCAC now has a better grasp on identifying and addressing the strengths and weaknesses of new recruits. Leta’s leadership has transformed how CCAC onboards and trains its new employees, setting the stage for future success.

Amber from Warwick:

Amber’s primary goal after attending the People Forum was to implement an HRIS system to streamline processes and drive strategic initiatives. After careful consideration and feedback from both her internal team and Synergy members, Amber identified the ideal system. With an end-year goal in sight, Amber continues to lead the charge, confident that their HRIS implementation will soon become a reality.

Stacey from IMCOR:

Stacey’s focus this year was creating a more engaging onboarding experience, and she has made impressive headway. With the upcoming rollout of a new HRIS system, Interstate will soon handle everything digitally, from applications to terminations. Stacey is also working on incorporating videos to explain benefit options to employees, a project scheduled for completion during open enrollment. After attending the People Forum, Stacey learned how to utilize ChatGPT to translate most all of their policies, job descriptions, and onboarding materials into Spanish. Stacey said she gained valuable insights that rejuvenated her approach to HR. Thanks to the forum, Interstate Mechanical is set to celebrate its 50th anniversary with updated branding, a modernized front office, and a more personalized employee experience.

The 2024 People Forum was a testament to the power of collaboration, innovation, and growth. Synergy members left empowered, having shared their journeys, challenges, and successes, knowing they are not alone on this path.
