In January, Synergy hosted the 2024 Service Operations Forum, bringing together industry leaders to share insights and strategies. As part of the forum, we asked attendees to complete an action plan, outlining one key objective they hoped to achieve upon returning home. We followed up with an accountability email, and we’re thrilled to share these four inspiring success stories from our members:
Ryan Tapley (ABM Mechanical):
Ryan aimed to build a better culture with his crew by introducing random raffles at Monday morning meetings for tasks like maintaining clean vans and completing work orders on time. Ryan successfully implemented the raffles, which have been well-received by his team. Additionally, since attending the forum which featured a Partner Fair of our Synergy partners, they have partnered with DST. Ryan described the DST tool as a game-changer for their team. After a two-day on-site training, the crew was amazed at its capabilities.
David Sanchez (Galgon HVAC):
David wanted to develop a method for tracking the efficiency of technicians, specifically through a replicable and accurate KPI report. David and his team created a straightforward Excel sheet to track weekly billable hours and estimated profitability. This collaborative effort with the accounting department has provided a reliable snapshot of their weekly performance, proving to be an effective tool for monitoring and improving efficiency.
Jordan LaPine (R.W. LaPine):
Jordan planned to implement a monthly newsletter for employees after hearing about the importance of staying connected and sharing the company culture with everyone. Jordan successfully launched the newsletter, which is now being distributed to employees. The team plans to extend this communication to include family members, further strengthening the sense of community within the company.
Andy Ghelfi (Cox Engineering):
Andy’s goal was to streamline operations processes to create more time for team interactions and improve daily work life, ultimately enhancing team culture and growth. Upon returning from the forum, Andy initiated an open-ended survey for his team, yielding valuable feedback. After reviewing the responses with his leadership team, Andy conducted a rollout meeting to discuss the results and implement immediate changes based on the feedback.
Service leaders will be getting together again this next at Synergy’s 2025 Service Operations Forum in Fort Worth, TX on Jan 26-29th. Registration is now open!
Did you accomplish what you’d hoped when you left the meeting? If not, how can we help you? If you completed your action plan, congratulations! Email Julie with your success story.
