In true Synergy fashion, a recent connection between two member companies turned into a major success story that highlights the power of our network.
When Randy Greer with W.L. Gary Company in Washington, D.C. posted a request on Synergy’s Ask A Peer forum, he was in a tight spot. His team was negotiating a fast-track, high-pressure project that required them to lead the coordination process—but they didn’t have the internal capacity to handle both the coordination and piping drawings within the aggressive timeline.
Randy’s post read: “Does anyone have any availability in their Coordination Department to help with a very fast track job… If you have a coordinator with some time available for the last 3 weeks of February/1st week of March, please let me know. This project is just a single story space but they want it drawn in just a couple of weeks.”
Shortly after the post went up, Ryan LaPine with R.W. LaPine in Michigan picked up the phone. He connected his CADD Manager, Andy, with W.L. Gary’s CADD Manager, Ryan, to talk through the opportunity. The R.W. LaPine team quickly put together a proposal to assist with the drawings, allowing W.L. Gary to confidently commit to leading the coordination effort.
“Because of R.W. LaPine’s help, we were awarded the project,” Randy shared. “It’s an $8 million job that must be finished by September of this year. If Ryan had not reached out to see if they could help, we might not have been awarded the project. Their team has been instrumental in us being on schedule for the coordination on this project. Other contractors on the job have not been so responsive. Hats off to Ryan and his team!!”
This is a perfect example of the Synergy spirit in action—members stepping up to support one another when it counts. A big thank you to Ryan, Andy, and the R.W. LaPine team for exemplifying the kind of partnership and collaboration that make our group so strong.
