On February 13th, 30 women from across the HVAC industry joined the latest Women in Synergy peer group call. The conversation focused on this year’s theme, Empowering and Enlightening, with a deep dive into Fierce Conversations—discussing how authenticity, courage, and open communication strengthen leadership and workplace relationships.

Christine DiFilippo from Peterson Service Company led an insightful discussion on what it means to have “fierce conversations”—conversations that require honesty, vulnerability, and a willingness to tackle tough topics. The group explored how different perspectives shape reality and how strong leaders foster environments where truth and growth go hand in hand.

The discussion also touched on the role of emotional intelligence in leadership. Participants exchanged ideas on how structured coaching and training programs have helped improve communication and accountability within their teams.

During breakout sessions, members shared strategies for handling difficult conversations while maintaining trust and professionalism. Several emphasized the importance of recognizing these discussions as work-related rather than personal, allowing for open and constructive dialogue. The group also explored how authenticity and self-confidence play a crucial role in leadership, encouraging women to take themselves seriously and express their thoughts without fear of judgment.
