One of the most valuable parts of Synergy’s forums is what happens after the meeting ends. At the 2025 Construction Forum, members committed to specific actions they wanted to take back to their companies, and in the weeks that followed, those commitments turned into real progress. Here are three examples of how peer accountability and shared ideas led to meaningful movement.
Mark Denlinger | MSD
Mark committed to improving communication between leadership and the field by introducing monthly foremen meetings. When he brought the idea to his foremen, he received some initial pushback. Rather than forcing the change, the group talked it through and landed on a better solution – bi-monthly foremen meetings with other training sessions scheduled in between. The adjusted cadence has been well received so far, and Mark is pleased with both the feedback and the improved communication flow to the field.
Brian Sen | Oahu
Brian shared that he wanted to begin using Microsoft Copilot to review specifications and explore whether AI could also be applied to plan review. After returning home, he found that using Copilot for specs was easier and more effective than expected, leading to broader adoption beyond just his team. Instead of forcing Copilot into plan review, the group connected with a software company developing a more specialized AI solution and is now waiting to test it with their engineers. While that piece is still in progress, Brian plans to keep the group updated as they continue exploring what’s possible.
Johnny Saldana | Raven Mechanical
Johnny committed to creating and fully implementing a production tracking system that would monitor labor hours, planned versus completed work, and crew productivity by job phase. Since the forum, his team has begun the implementation process, with the biggest early win being buy-in from the project management team. The next focus is determining how to organize and track SIPs and deciding what deliverables make the most sense for the field. While still a work in progress, Johnny’s goal is to keep the system as simple and painless as possible, with an Excel-based option currently under consideration.
These stories highlight what Synergy forums are all about – practical ideas, honest follow-through, and steady progress supported by peers who understand the challenges. It’s not about perfection; it’s about momentum, accountability, and learning together.
