Following the 2025 Field Supervisors Forum in Nashville, we checked in with attendees to see how they were applying what they learned. The forum focused on helping field leaders strengthen their communication, coaching, and leadership skills. Here are three stories from members who took that message to heart and put their action plans into motion.
Andrew Smith – Nashville Machine
Andrew’s goal was to request feedback from his peers. After the forum, he followed through by asking for a peer review to identify any blind spots in his work. What he learned surprised him: his colleagues not only valued his performance but encouraged him to reach out more often rather than taking everything on himself.
Seth Queen – Five Star Mechanical
Seth left the forum with a plan to offer more positive feedback to his team. While it didn’t come naturally at first, he’s made it a regular habit, offering encouragement and recognition at least once a week. He credits the strong dynamic of his team for making it easier and has even taken time to show appreciation by treating the crew to lunch.
Rick Hall – LMS
Rick committed to improving his coaching approach. Since the forum, he’s focused on asking more questions to guide his team through troubleshooting. Instead of giving step-by-step answers, he challenges his techs to think critically and adjust their responses. The result? More engagement and better problem-solving from the crew.
These stories show how small, intentional changes can make a big impact. We’re looking forward to hearing more progress from the group as they continue building on the lessons from the forum!
